EA India office in Hyderabad supports game development activities for mobile gaming, console, online and free to play casual game website – pogo.com. Corporate operates shared services centers for IT which provides networks & applications support whereas Finance performs procure to pay, accounts receivables, revenue accounting, fixed assets accounting, procurement support, payroll & FP&A functions.

Purpose and Scope:

The person will be responsible to lead the GL team and fully responsible for teams’ performance by completion of tasks timely and accurately. The responsibilities include overseeing of Month end close activities, Reconciliations review, Fixed Asset accounting, VAT Returns and also leading the transitions and contributing to finance projects.

 Key Responsibilities:

 Thorough knowledge of Balance sheet items/ Income statement line items.

  • Lead the GL Team and ensure all the deliverables are meeting the SLA. Work closely with the Regional Controllers in reviewing the SLAs and implementing additional matrices as required.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in preparation of Bank reconciliations.
  • Review the High Risk and High Complex reconciliations and ensure that the reconciliation health is within the EA Reconciliation Guidelines/Policy.
  • Expert level knowledge in preparation of Accrual and prepaid Journal Entries, in compliance with the journal entry policy.
  • Should have strong conceptual understanding of US-GAAP and also the underlying accounting aspects. Be able to resolve the reconciliation and accounting queries from the team.

  • Identify alignment opportunities and drive efficiencies within the GL processes. Lead transitions, review resource allocation and bandwidth.
  • Should be able to manage and guide team in Fixed Assets, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Cash reconciliations, Payroll, VAT and other GL activities.
  • Participate and actively contribute to the Global Alignment Projects and other Projects/Initiatives

  • Continuously evaluates, recommends, and implements changes to all processes impacting the GL to simplify while improving transparency.

  • Drive Business review meetings with respective Stakeholders.

  • Be able to drive the quarterly reviews with the Leadership Team independently.

 

Qualification and Experience:

 

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant/Semi qualified Accountant with relevant competency
  • 8 years+ of relevant experience in Accounting and Reconciliation for a large MNC preferably BPO/KPOs or Captives having Finance and Accounting services
  • Should have been in the team leading role for at least 4-5 years.
  • Should have hands-on experience in driving transitions and setting up new processes in Finance and Accounting function.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle R12. Hyperion Financial Management, MS Office applications.
  • Should have excellent excel skills and good knowledge on Power Point Tool.
  • Outgoing personality with excellent verbal & written English communication skills, commitment to achieving results.
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours given the global nature of EA’s business
