Position Overview: 

As a leader within EA Studios Content, the Craft Director: Project Management will drive project management strategy across the globe. You will be partnering with Department Heads and Development Directors in all our studios to define best practices, set in place global standards, and find innovative ways to solve complex project management problems in the delivery of content for our AAA games.  

As an experienced Project Manager from a dynamic multi-project background, you will use your expertise in project management, resource management, and complex customer management to help improve our efficiency and effectiveness, with an eye towards common, scalable solutions that work across all groups and titles.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Build effective partnerships with Development Directors in EA Studios and Vendor studios around the globe, to understand their challenges, pain points and existing processes.  
  • Create, own, and improve all project management processes, working in collaboration with the EA Studios Content Leadership and customer communities.  
  • Create standards and best practices for project management within EA Studios Content, educating and evangelizing where needed.  
  • Ensure the EA Studios Content Development Director team across the globe is trained on the necessary skills, processes, and best practices.  
  • Be current with industry standards and trends and ensure EA Studios Content leads the way in Project Management practices.  
  • Be an active and collaborative stakeholder in the production systems initiative currently being run within EA Studios Content.  
  • Form close working relationships with EA Studios Content Heads, EA Shanghai, Content Global Resourcing, and other Content Craft Directors.  

 

Required Technical Skills and Experience: 

  • You have experience in one or more of the VFX/animation/game/movie industries.   
  • You have a deep understanding of Project Management systems for production pipelines, with experience in the following:  
    • Scheduling/project management software  
    • Resource management software  
    • Scenario planning systems  
  • You have highly developed relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility and influence within EA and external development partners.  
  • You have 10+ years of project management experience on increasingly complex projects with heavy dependencies  
  • You are the authority on project management (including Agile, Lean and Waterfall methodologies – Prince2, PMP, Agile)  
  • Expertise in project management tools  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience

  • You are able to effectively handle your time, prioritize a multitude of requests and draw on support for help if the path isn’t clear.  
  • You are willing to jump into the unknown and solve new problems, have the ability to think creatively to resolve challenges and limitations, and make sound decisions based on both data analysis and judgement.  
  • You are able to show a high degree of initiative and leadership to ensure continuous improvement and demonstrate improved outcomes from this standardization.  
  • You are curious and able to dig deep into understanding what other people are doing, what they need and what they may be lacking.
