Position Overview: 

The Program Manager is a lead position for a large production systems initiative within EA Studios Content. You will partner with the Product Owner and Technical Lead to lead the effort to streamline, optimize, track and generally improve the ways data is organized, built and iterated across the different departments involved in making content for our AAA games. You will improve our efficiency with a focus on common, scalable solutions that work across all groups and titles.  

Your job will be to run this program of work, working with the other key roles to define the vision and roadmap for the initiative, as well as building relationships with key partners. You will be responsible for retaining oversight of the purpose and status of all the projects within the program to ensure program goals are consistently being met. You will be handling relationships with, and between, the different EA groups involved and impacted by the program, and you’ll be responsible for guiding those groups, and the EA Studios Content team, through the changes associated with the program of work. Ultimately, you’ll be part of a team that are implementing solutions that will have an impact at the highest level within the content organization.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with Product Owner and Technical Lead to drive the initiative’s vision and roadmap.  
  • Participate in the development of implementation strategies and plans for the program of work.  
  • Proactively engage sponsors, partners and technical delivery leadership to ensure goals are clear, commitments remain stable, dependencies managed, risks mitigated, and issues resolved.  
  • Clearly define trade-offs and drive project objectives through organizational constraints.  
  • Proactively communicate to convey progress, influence needed decisions, and convey concepts across teams and stakeholders.  
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of executive level presentations.  
  • Create and execute detailed program plans, key documentation, processes, schedules for tasks, teams and UAT.  
  • Own program scope and related change management processes, analyzing impact of change, proposing an effective change management plan and working to maintain changes once in place.  
  • Work with the Product Owner to deliver key insights to help arm the technical team as they evolve our products and services.  
  • Lead the knowledge transfer from program team to project team to support teams, and ensure solutions are stable and supportable.  

 

Required Technical Skills and Experience: 

  • You have 10+ years of project and program management experience on increasingly complex projects with heavy dependencies.  
  • You have Experience shipping software as a Program Manager.  
  • You have highly developed relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility and influence within EA and external development partners.  
  • Effective delivery of products using Waterfall/Agile development methodologies.  
  • Bachelor’s  degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • You are able to effectively manage your time, prioritize a multitude of requests and draw on support for help if the path isn’t clear.  
  • You are able to show a high degree of initiative and leadership to ensure continuous improvement and demonstrate improved outcomes from this standardization.
