The Quality Analyst will take responsibility of the live quality for their specific product and will be overseeing the primary live test execution layer for this project.

The Challenge Ahead:


The Quality Analyst and team are accountable for planning and managing test coverage on a client and server release, reporting on results and ultimately confirming the success of a release.
The Quality Analyst will be able to demonstrate sound technical platform and game knowledge and help write test plans for the title you are responsible for.
 

What a Quality Analyst II does at EA:


As a Quality Analyst, your primary focus will be ensuring the quality of the assigned product in the Live environment. Some of the tasks are but not limited to test planning, partner meetings, investigative testing, requirements-based testing, Live verification and ad hoc testing. You’ll be contributing to the player journey of a title, which improves the players experience. You will ensure test plans and best practices are shared across teams to improve their testing and processes. Another focus will be understanding the Quality process of several projects, resolving identified gaps, assessment, and prioritization of risks.


You will also collaborate daily with members of WWCE, Development QA, Certification, 1st party, Production and Development, drafting detailed test plans and test suites and ensuring they are executed efficiently. Additionally, you will be regularly recognizing and accurately setting the severity of issues, helping production to prioritize issues in the bug database to expedite bug-fixing efforts. Key to the role is providing feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of team processes and methodologies and working with onsite and offsite teams to help drive the title to quality.

 

Another task that is assigned to all Analysts in Live QA is to provide solutions and improvement to ongoing workflows and processes. We are also a learning and development team that emphasises the opportunity of learning or designing tools that allow us to improve our day to day tasks.

Desired:

  • QA/testing experience
  • Mobile experience: QA testing or Engineering
  • Project Management: Certification or professional experience in Software Project Management
  • Platforms: Advanced user knowledge of Mobile Platforms
  • Tools: Knowledge of SQL and Data Analysis tools such as PowerBI and Tableau
  • Tools: Advanced knowledge of JIRA and other Atlassian tools
  • Tools: Advanced Knowledge of Excel – Macros/Pivot tables

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to take ownership of a Live QA project and meet responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • No 9 to 5 mentality – this is a challenging environment that mandates flexibility.
  • A self-starter with high level of comfort & enjoyment in both team and individual settings.
  • Ability to understand complex architecture dependencies with other systems.
  • Ability to understand QAs involvement throughout the development cycle.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify risks and escalate to applicable stakeholders.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong tracking and organizational skills.
  • Passion to learn new technologies and systems with high degree of ownership.
  • Ability to be flexible and team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks in fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Proficiency with Mobile platforms (Android and iOS).
  • Ability to identify root causes and propose viable solutions.
  • Strong sense of urgency to mitigate risks and potential areas of concern proactively rather than reactively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
