External Description:

EA’s Global Analytics & Insights (GAI) team uses in-game behavioral data, traditional consumer research, lab work, and online advertising data to provoke and inspire EA’s game development and marketing teams to think and act “Player First.” Specifically, GAI encompasses the company’s Data Science, UX Research, Consumer Insights, Studio Analytics, and Marketing Analytics functions.

GAI is hiring an MBA Summer Intern in Analytics Strategy. The intern will help to shape the future direction of Analytics and Insights at EA.

Previous GAI interns have worked on broad-reaching projects that touch all aspects of the player journey, changing the way our players experience and enjoy our games.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Own and deliver a strategic project in partnership with EA’s Global Analytics & Insights team.
  • Apply strategy frameworks to analyze and summarize results into fact-based, data-driven recommendations forchallenging and often ambiguous business issues within the context of Analytics and Insights
  • Work with managers across multiple analytics and research functions to gather insights and developrecommendations
  • Research and evaluate competitive and industry dynamics with regards to analytics and insights
  • Integrate strategic and financial components of analysis into a synthesized set of hypotheses and conclusions forreview by senior leaders
  • Distill core components of a complex problem into succinct and easily understood set of conclusions for presentationto senior management

In addition: own and deliver a data analysis project related to Studio Analytics, Marketing Analytics, or Data Science. You’ll have the opportunity to dig into real player data and perform analysis that will drive improved business decision-making and meaningful changes to the gameplay experience / marketing performance.

  • How analytics and player research drive game and business improvement at EA
  • The opportunities and challenges of operating within an in-house, centralized analytics and research “consultancy”
  • Senior leaders from around the business through ad-hoc projects and networking opportunities


Skills / Requirements:

  • 1st -year MBA student
  • Interest and knowledge in gaming
  • 2+ years of experience with a top tier consulting firm, investment banking firm, or similar strategy role preferred
  • Experience with competitive analysis / peer-benchmarking
  • Strong analytical ability; exposure to and experience with statistical analysis and modeling techniques
  • Proficiency in R and SQL a plus, but not required
  • Ability and motivation to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with ambiguity
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills required to lead and participate in projects, including anticipating requirementsand monitoring workload
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Clearly structured written communication; confidence and poise in delivering to senior management; ability to frameand communicate complex, technical work to non-technical stakeholders
