Location: Redwood City, CA

Term: 6 months

The Maxis Studio in Redwood City, CA is seeking an Assistant Producer to be a part of The Sims Mobile team as we bring to life this legendary IP on mobile platforms, engaging a whole new generation.  We’re a highly collaborative and adaptive team of hands-on game makers and we’re pushing the boundaries on every front to create an incredible new mobile experience for our players.

Nature of Position

Producers at EA are inspiring leaders who manage groups within the development team to craft state-of-the-art gameplay.  As an Assistant Producer, you are a creative problem-solver who wears many hats. You will work with a team of producers, designers, artists, and engineers to create and own compelling new features for The Sims Mobile. Ideal candidates demonstrate an ability to quickly learn a wide variety of software tools, possess strong written and verbal communications skills, and are self-motivated with a strong work ethic and service-oriented mentality. They also must demonstrate success working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment using critical thinking and problem-solving skills along the way. Knowledge of the tools, technologies, and processes used in game development are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with design, art and engineering teams to facilitate features through preproduction.
  • Work with design, art, and QA teams to review and approve features during implementation.
  • Passionately and clearly articulate goals and team principles to contribute to a stimulating and fun team culture.
  • Field bugs and feedback for new and existing features to assess their priority and risk.
  • Help handle text and localization requests.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant experience will be considered
  • 1-2 years of experience working on and contributing to the development of video games and /or other interactive entertainment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Experience working directly with cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated with a strong personal work ethic
  • The ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment and priorities
  • Strong passion for gaming
