TECHNICAL UI Designer

What a Technical UI Designer does at EA:

  • Works with the team to deliver on an innovative, attractive and functional user experience
  • Build and maintains the UI art style guide in line with vision, ensuring UI delivers a consistent and immersive gaming experience to our players
  • Works closely with the UI Engineers to implement UI features
  • Take feedback from the design team to improve workflows and support features
  • Rapidly iterate and develop solutions to design challenges while following creative and art direction
  • Implement features to design specifications using visual scripting
  • Creation of required art assets (icons etc.)

The next great Technical UI designer also needs: 

  • Relevant industry UI experience
  • An interest in specializing in UI
  • Excellent and proven graphic and information design background
  • Experience using usability research as a basis for iteration
  • Ability to iterate on clear and complete user/data flows using wireframes
  • Adept with standard art tools of the trade (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience with animating motion graphics (After Effects)
  • Excellent communicator (Verbal and written) and collaborator who loves to work with programmers, designers, and other artists
  • Ideally a track record of shipped titles
  • Editor experience (for engines such as Frostbite or Unreal)
  • Creative and flexible when faced with constraints
  • Ability to work autonomously and think proactively
