This role is part of EA’s Customer Experience organization. The Customer Experience organization strives to make EA known for taking care of its players. We’re players taking care of players and people talking to people – whenever, wherever, and however they need us.

The Director of Analytics and BI will lead our Analytics, BI, Taxonomy and Search teams, developing a unified strategy across these teams that drives positive impact and change across both WWCE and EA as a whole.

Specifically, the Director of Analytics and BI will directly lead and mentor a team of analysts on projects across a range of domains and effectively prioritize resources to maximize impact.  They will help solve complex problems and present actionable analysis to help the Customer Experience leadership team make business decisions and drive strategy. 

This role will also lead our Business Intelligence team, where they will help deliver streamlined reporting and dashboards that enable our stakeholders to get access to the data and insights they need, when they need it.  They will also lead our data governance function along with related training and education activities across the org.

 

Additionally, this role will lead Taxonomy and Search, providing guidance and mentorship to our team of subject matter experts.  They will work to enable a taxonomy and search strategy that simultaneously provides an improved player experience while also ensuring that we capture actionable data to share with our stakeholders.

 

This is a leadership role and the right candidate will have a strong analytics and BI background and be capable of influencing within Customer Experience and among partners and stakeholders across EA.  This position reports to the Senior Director of Insights for Worldwide Customer Experience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the WWCE Analytics team by guiding, developing, and mentoring a global team of analysts
  • Manage day-to-day analyst deliverables, including capacity planning and best practices like peer reviews, problem solving methodology, archiving, and model selection and validation techniques
  • Manage the WWCE BI and Taxonomy & Search teams by driving a cross-functional strategy and providing mentorship to the teams
  • Partner with leadership and stakeholders to define and prioritize highest value work for the business
  • Supervise and deliver projects to best achieve overall organizational goals
  • Present actionable analytics and future recommendations
  • Analyze performance, identify areas to optimize and test where appropriate
  • Implement and champion analytics and BI best practices
  • Continue to evolve and upgrade the team’s technical skills with SQL, R, Python and other relevant languages and tools
  • Lead data governance, ensuring that our metrics are aligned to business goals
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in the analytics and customer experience industries in order to recommend and implement performance improvements

 

 

If you’re interested in this role, you’ll need these skills or experiences:

  • A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, and/or Engineering Sciences – graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience with demonstrated experience applying analytics and BI to real world problems, particularly in the customer experience arena
  • 5+ years of managing and developing analysts supporting multiple functional areas impacting the customer experience
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, reveal the story it tells, and present the analysis to senior leadership
  • Strong understanding of standard modeling strategies and descriptive statistics
  • Experience with a data visualization software package, e.g., Tableau
  • Excellent knowledge of a statistical software package or programming language, such R, SAS, or Python
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, vlookups, charts, and graphs
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with big data ecosystems like Hive/Hadoop
  • Familiarity with the gaming industry, contact centers, managing global teams, and JIRA preferred
