CANDIDATE PROFILE

Reporting to the Chief People Officer at EA, the Vice President of Total Rewards will work closely with the EA Executive Team and the People Experience Leadership Team to develop strong executive and broad-based compensation and benefit programs which allow us to attract, engage and retain the talent needed to power our business strategy.  This role will partner with the Chief People Officer to design and secure executive team and Board support for programs and practices anchored in the vision for the Company, our long-term strategy, and our values.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of functional expertise in compensation and benefits, collaborative internal and external  partnerships, operating and process excellence, strong team and people leadership.

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in working in a rapidly-changing, high growth environment with strengths in developing business acumen which translates to programs and practices deeply aligned with the goals of our Company.  They are an exceptional leader who leverages strong influence skills to drive to results. This person is adept and comfortable with developing high-level Total Rewards philosophy and strategy but also diving deep into design and managing execution. Direct experience working in the high technology software or entertainment industry is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the strategic review, design, implementation, and communication of the EA's compensation and benefits philosophy and programs. Provide specific recommendations and plans that will enhance the company’s ability to attract, motivate, and retain talent at all levels, across the world and drive its strategic and operational objectives.
  • Partner closely with senior management, the Compensation Committee of the Board, and appropriate consultants to ensure that the company has a competitive and progressive, comprehensive and cost-effective approach to compensation and benefits offerings. Drive us towards innovation in our programs where appropriate to deliver a continuous improvement in our people’s experience with Total Rewards.
  • In partnership with the Chief People Officer, work with the external compensation consultant to the Compensation Committee on the design and implementation of Board of Directors and Executive Compensation programs; develop agenda, prepare materials and presentations for Compensation Committee meetings.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance and the external Compensation Consultant to prepare the Company’s annual proxy and develop the Compensation Discussion and Analysis.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to senior management and the Board on existing and emerging compensation and benefits trends and competitive intelligence; partners closely with Finance and Legal to ensure we meet compliance requirements of all of our programs and practices.
  • Direct the development of communication plans, materials and presentations related to new and existing employee plans and processes to ensure effectiveness, understanding and appreciation, as well as communicating the correlation of the plans and our business strategies.
  • Build and effectively lead an exceptional Total Rewards team; ensure that they are technically strong, possess a high level of business acumen, are effective partners and capable of delivering results on time and at quality.
  • Foster the development of talent in Total Rewards, ensuring their ongoing skill and career development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Comprehensive experience in a public company in a similar role.
  • Global experience, multiple countries, regions
  • Large, public company exposure, comfortable and experienced with complexity.
  • Proven experience working closely with a Compensation Committee of a Board as well as external compensation consultants. Executive compensation experience required.
  • Experience designing company-‐wide compensation and benefits plans and ensuring correlation with the business strategy. Early career in compensation/benefits consulting a plus.
  • Possesses a process and system improvement mindset with the ability to lead the team towards continuous improvement and delivering a strong people experience in the Total Rewards space
  • Knowledgeable on legislation impacting pay programs. Maintains awareness of economic and pay practice trends within industry.
  • Solid foundation in compensation theories and practices. Knowledge in SOX and regulatory compliance.
  • People Leadership - Exceptionally strong people leader with ability to nurture talent; provide feedback and coaching; manage performance and deliver results through others.
  • Business Acumen - Knowledgeable about external business trends and are able to translate them into internal decisions and actions.  They understand general business conditions (e.g., social, technological, economic, political, environmental and demographic trends) that affect their industry and geography.
  • Strategic and Analytical Capability - Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively. Effectively translates data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans.
  • Effective Communication - Communicates clearly and effectively with associates at all levels, board members, external partners and customers. Strong verbal and written presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way and to tailor key messages and presentation style to multiple audiences.
  • Influence and Collaboration - Builds and sustains collaborative relationships at multiple levels in the company. Able to work through complex disagreements and conflict to achieve resolution. Builds trust by including others and by keeping the cross-functional teams focused on the success of the entire company.
