A full time position focused on IT server based solutions enabling the development of games.  The successful applicant will provide direct support to game and development teams, focusing on the virtual environment (VMware with Dell servers),  storage and other data center related administration. You  will monitor, administer and optimize the virtual environment for all business critical applications. You will help to design and Implement productivity enhancing tools for the game teams, such as the development of a virtual desktop infrastructure for remote users. You will also offer solutions to automate and optimize data center administration.

Key Skills

  • BS in Computer Science preferred
  • Extensive Windows experience including Active Directory management and Windows Server 2012 and later
  • Significant Linux (CentOS/RHEL) administration experience, RHCE preferred
  • Experience in a large production environment with VMware virtualization
  • VDI experience, preference for VMware Horizon
  • Experience in storage administration, including NFS and CIFS; NetApp preferred
  • Significant experience managing and maintaining server hardware
  • Experience with automating server configuration and server deployment is an asset
  • Experience with developing, deploying and maintaining a monitoring infrastructure
  • Relevant experience with network administration - support, troubleshooting, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot application, network, and server level (hardware and software) problems
  • Perform as SME for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure architecture and engineering
  • Manage storage infrastructure, focusing on NetApp Clustered ONTap technology
  • Setup and maintains monitoring systems, including plugins focusing on Nagios
  • Maintain documentation of systems configurations and processes, including runbooks, Confluence, and Wiki pages.
  • Deploy and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure
  • Coordinate with Global IT and other SMEs to establish and implement IT standards across EA
  • Interface with local and global development teams for triage and management of production and development environments.
  • Assist with storage provisioning and troubleshooting performance and permission issues
  • Assist users with problem resolution and answer system usage questions.
  • Review log files and other server monitoring data for problems and maintenance.
