Position Title: Sr Game Designer

LEAD WRITER

We are looking for a talented and experienced Lead Writer to join an established, experienced team of developers working on a AAA Star Wars title in development at Motive Vancouver.  This is an opportunity to join a veteran team and help craft the vision and execution of a compelling, innovative and immersive Star Wars experience. The Lead Writer will conceptualize, edit and deliver rich narrative content that aligns with our creative vision.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Writer will collaborate directly with the Creative Director, Cinematic Director, Gameplay Director and the Story team to conceptualize, edit, and deliver rich narrative content in the expanding Star Wars universe. Working with the design team, the Lead Writer will help unify strong storytelling with innovative game design.  

 Develop the MAIN storyline, WORLD storylines and QUEST storylines:

• Unify narrative goals with gameplay objectives
• Continually communicate the narrative vision and how it unfolds across all story channels
• Pioneer new ways to deliver stories across the game
• Provide direction and feedback to an internal/external writer team
• Run the writers room

Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional writing experience in the video game industry with at least two AAA titles
• Bachelor’s degree in writing or related field, or equivalent experience
• Expert at writing non-sequential spatial stories that tie to progression, and overall player experience.
• Leader that can direct and motivate a team of writers
• English is the required language of work.
