Position Title: Director, Analytics

External Description:

We are looking for a Director to lead the BioWare and Motive Games Analytics team.  This individual will be based in the Bioware studio located in Austin.  This individual will work closely with the studio teams, Publishing, Product Marketing, development, finance, and ops, as well as GAI team members in Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Edmonton, Montreal, Austin, Guildford, Montreal, Geneva and Bucharest.  This is a leadership role on the team which means the right candidate will be responsible for driving influence in the studio, as well as centrally across GAI, and able to mentor, develop and lead a team of analysts on projects across a wide range of franchises and business models.

 
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
 

  • Create and drive a strategic vision for the analytics team across multiple game studios and products
  • Elevate the quality of actionable insights across the team
  • Build development plans and objectives for the team that align with overall Global Analytics and studio objectives
  • Build relationships and influence key stakeholders in BioWare and Motive studios, global publishing, and marketing with quality insights
  • Find new opportunities to explore data to improve the player experience, improve the product, drive incremental revenue and/or reduce costs across the BioWare and Motive Studio Portfolio
  • Drive collaboration within the business analytics team and with the Global Analytics group, including Data Science, Marketing Analytics, Consumer Insights, and User Experience Research
  • Lead digital strategy discussions with studio and marketing to optimize the opportunity based on the different objectives between studio, marketing, and publishing
  • Responsible for working with key stakeholders to implement the right tracking/telemetry in our products, in an iterative way so that our knowledge continues to evolve
  • Partner with BI and reporting teams to develop requirements for dashboards and reports for live service teams as well as reports for execs
  • Responsible for forecast models for our products, working with marketing, dev and finance

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in gaming, banking, consulting, telecom, or retail
  • Leading a multi-function analytics team across multiple products working with product managers
  • Experience managing a team with multiple locations is a plus
  • Ability to coach analytics talent to develop his or her skillset
  • Experience with SQL: including extensive experience querying large, complex data sets
  • Familiarity with a data visualization software package, e.g., Tableau
  • Familiarity with a statistical software package, preferably R
  • Good knowledge of Excel including macros, pivot tables, vlookups, charts and graphs
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Team player and self-starter with the ability to liaise with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, and/or Engineering Sciences  – Master’s Degree a plus
  • Willingness to travel to multiple studio locations across North America
  • Passion for videogames is preferred
