ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Software Engineer on the Ghost’s tools team, you will contribute your unique skillset to optimize workflows, improving the life for artists and content editors. Good workflows are essential to the quality of the finished game. The game engine for Ghost is Frostbite and the tools team partners with the Frostbite team to get the most out of the engine. The workflows are spanning many aspects of asset creation including world building, asset creation and gameplay authoring. As a member of the team, your job will be to contribute to solve problems and write software, fix bugs and help artists with their work.

  • Working closely with customers (i.e. artists and engineers) to develop user-friendly tools and easy to manage, efficient pipelines
  • Writing scripts to update game data
  • Building optimal workflows that aid in the development and iteration of game content
  • Partnering closely with end users to understand their workflows and toolset needs
  • Following established coding standards

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience
  • Proficiency with C#
  • Some experience with C++ and Python
  • Experience in object-oriented design and implementation
  • Understanding and implementation of Design Patterns and implementation in C# code
  • Ability to test, debug, and extend other Software Engineer's code competently

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • Unit testing
  • Experience with build systems and concepts (NANT)
  • Experience in working with Source Code Control Systems – Perforce
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum) development methodologies
  • Expertise and experience in UI development
  • Designing User Interfaces in C# using WPF
  • Previous experience in tool development that may include world editing tools, 2D and 3D art content pipelines, art importers/exporters, automated content/data build systems and GUI development.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Innovative mindset with focus on how to improve product quality as well as group productivity
