Position Overview: 

As a Senior Engineer on the team, you will help lead the effort to streamline, optimize and generally improve the ways data is organized, built and iterated on across the different departments involved in making content for our AAA games. You will help improve our efficiency with an eye towards common, scalable solutions that work across all groups and titles.  

As a production systems specialist, your job will be to identify global problems, propose solutions, architect data and build technologies that help our partner teams have more visibility into our operational data. You will be tackling large-scale challenges, partnering with multiple internal stakeholders and partners, and shaping solutions that will have an impact at the highest level within the content organization.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work with operational stakeholders to analyze, design and develop architectural solutions to streamline centralized production data modeling, collection and review 
  • Ensure code is developed, deployed, documented and maintained in keeping with EA guidelines.  
  • Provide support and assist developers from other departments in working with the data and the framework.  
  • Identifying and solving complex, systematic problems in the domain of tools, pipeline and workflow development.  
  • Analyzing problem spaces, risks and dependencies across multiple domains and/or toolsets.   
  • Test new concepts and technologies, suggest improvements in technical direction to advance EA’s technologies. 
  • Gathering requirements across large collaboration efforts that span multiple teams, locations and disciplines. 
  • Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes.  

 
Required Technical Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience. 
  • 10 + years as an engineer.  
  • Experience with C#. 
  • Extensive understanding of web standards and distributed systems (e.g., HTML5, REST, SOAP, JSON).  
  • Database experience.  
  • Previous experience in tool development that may include resource and project management workflows. 
  • Experience in UI/UX development. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices. 
  • Ability to analyze and improve workflow to enhance group productivity. 

 

Additional Skills: 

  • Working knowledge of .NET Base class libraries. 
  • Experience with C++. 
  • Exposure to unit testing frameworks (MBUnitNUnit). 
  • Experience with build systems and concepts (TFS, Jenkins, NANT). 
  • Experience in working with Source Code Control Systems – TFS, Perforce, GIT. 
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum) development methodologies. 
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python. 
  • Ability to test, debug, and extend other Software Engineer's code. 
  • Background in development of Project Management tools preferable.
