Position Title: Legal Specialist II

External Description:

EA’s legal department is looking for a talented Senior Legal Associate (non-attorney) to work with our Legal Approvals team to provide support to our product, marketing and other business teams on intellectual property and legal clearance matters.

  • Work with game development teams in conjunction with Counsel to vet game features, functionality, registration flows and content.
  • Provide legal support for game development and marketing teams by leading regular check-in calls and meetings with key legal and business stakeholders.
  • Review marketing materials (game trailers, websites, point of sale, packaging, etc.) for content clearance, messaging and disclosures.
  • Prepare contest and other promotion rules, disclosures and notices.
  • Perform trademark searches and other content clearance research.

Our next Senior Legal Associate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.  Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program preferable, but not required.
  • 5+ years prior experience at in-house legal department or law firm. Intellectual property experience a plus.
  • Experience with technology and games a plus.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving ability; sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to issue-spot and ability to identify legal and business risk.
  • Capable of effectively shifting priorities and adapting to the demands of a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to learn and grow in the role.
  • Experience in Games Industry would be desirable.
