Introduction

 The Motive Vancouver and Motive Montreal create AAA games focused on emotionally engaging rich stories with unforgettable characters and vast worlds to discover. These two studios have created some of the world's most critically acclaimed titles  including Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

Software Engineer (C++)

 We are searching for a motivated, professional software engineer to join our live service team.  In this role you will:

 Partner with Production to deliver creative solutions that meet live service goals

    • Work closely with Production to understand live service goals.
    • Design solutions that will help meet these goals within existing constraints.
    • Assist with release planning by providing implementation plans.  Estimate work, identify risks, plan out development for features, tools, workflow improvements.
    • Deliver high quality solutions, across client and server, ensuring features are launch-ready.
  • Maintain, support and own a large existing codebase.
  • Engage experts on the team when necessary to help with development or bug fixing.
  • Assist DevOps with root cause analysis of issues in the live production environment.

 Requirements:

  • Extensive professional programming experience and good understanding of software design principles.
  • Shipped at least one AAA title on console.
  • Strong C++ engineering skills able to dive into all areas of the software.
  • Strong architectural skills.
  • Familiarity with SCM, preferably Perforce.
  • Able to communicate with technical and non-technical team members and partner groups.
  • Able to own features end-to-end and put together technical proposals and software estimates.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of quality.

 Pluses

  • Experience with the Frostbite game engine.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with C#.
