Our mandate within the EAX Team is to help drive strategically positioned, disruptive digital transformation technologies across all platforms whilst investing in our rapidly growing subscription based business

Role:

We are looking for a Software Engineer, Android to provide technical expertise to a team of talented engineers to help drive innovation in our EAX team for our online game distribution and subscription services across PC, console, Mac and mobile devices though offerings including Origin, EA Access and more.

In this role, you will work closely with an amazing group of engineers with similar skills. You will be delivering new features and support areas of our products. You will collaborate with other EAX scrum teams to co-ordinate feature delivery, manage dependencies and risks. You will work closely with the Technical Lead other technology leaders to contribute to and adhere to technical standards and direction.

Challenges you will contribute to solving: 

• Delivery: Deliver product enhancements and support. Participate in best practices and various testing standards, including peer reviews.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with feature scrums teams and central technology teams across EAX. Collaborate with teams to help maintain the Agile methodology and improve workflows on products currently used and those on the product roadmap.  This will include maturity of various applications into a regular delivery pipeline, focusing on test coverage, continuous integration, and application health metrics.
• Engineering efficiency: Code quality & technical risk, sustainable software development, with the tools, technical processes and best practices needed to develop in an agile and efficient way

You are:

• Educated and experienced: BS / MS degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of mobile development. You have a proven track record with mobile applications at scale for Android and have experience with React and React Native . You’ve worked with Java and object-oriented programming concepts. You’ve also worked with multiple platforms such as web, smart tv, consoles, etc. and have an appreciate for responsive design patterns.
• A gamer: you have a passion for play and whether this be through the nostalgia of spending quarters at an arcade to the latest sports simulation you love the games, community and industry
• Self-starting: you see ambiguity as a challenge and an opportunity; your built-in compass helps steer through problems and requests even when they are foggy and nebulous
• Entrepreneurial: you either have entrepreneurial experience or an entrepreneurial spirit, which means you're willing to take risks; you care about challenge and potential, not titles or the size of your team
• Communicator: your excellent verbal and written communications skills apply across audiences; you know how to collect information and communicate it in a clear and succinct manner that gets to the point and rallies team members to action. 
• Life-long learner: you have a love of learning and are often on a path of learning for personal and professional growth.
