Quality Analyst - Contractor (Mobile) – EA Redwood Shores 

Role Description 

EA Mobile creates games for mobile devices, social networks and online environments that deliver seamless play anytime, anywhere, on any device. Connecting a market of more than one billion core and mass-casual gamers worldwide, EA Mobile delivers engaging, accessible, high quality games to people of all skill levels and interests.

As a Quality Analyst, you’ll be embedded with the Game Team, working hand-in-hand with producers, engineers, artists, and designers to test and analyze the game product. You’ll help to define and execute on the test strategy for the QA group and will be champion quality for the product. Your daily challenge with will be in helping to design test strategies, capturing qualitative assessments and usability feedback, and ensuring the highest caliber of quality for our titles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide expert testing for game features and development tools.
  • Provide in-depth scrum team support, working closely with members of Production and Development to align daily priorities.
  • Drive smoke-testing for build promotion and coordinate with other team members for reporting and troubleshooting.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate detailed requirements for implementation / verification of features.
  • Be the voice of quality for the product.

 

NOTE: This is not an entry level software-testing position.


Required: 

  • Previous games industry experience.
  • Passion to learn new technologies and systems with high degree of ownership.
  • Ability to meet responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • Ability to mitigate risks and potential areas of concern with appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Comfort working on products in early stages of development.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed.

Preferred: 

  • Experience working directly with a software development team.
  • Experience working with offsite teams.
  • Experience with JIRA or similar defect tracking and task management databases.
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment.
  • Proficiency with PC and Mac OS.
  • Knowledge/experience in mobile/tablet devices on both Android and iOS.
  • Experience working with Charles Proxy
