Position Title: Senior Graphic Designer II

External Description:

Merging Data and Design is what the Creative Data team is all about. Positioned under the Global Analytics and Insights (GAI) group, the Creative Data team is mandated to create stunning visualizations and captivating tools that help EA unlock the full potential of our game data. Partnering with data science and analytic teams within GAI, who help provide statistical/analytic support on projects, the Creative Data brings the design and development expertise to illuminate data. Members of the team work on projects that are interactive, informative and forward thinking. Projects have both research and practical implications, allowing the team to solve for both immediate game analytic needs while investigating the future data-driven needs of EA.

 

UI Designers on the team bring design, visual style and organization to our web-based tools. We are looking for UI/UX designers that work well in a research environment and can envision a product from end to end with the help of Frontend and Backend Engineers.

 

Responsibilities of a Sr. UI Designer on the Creative Data Team:

 

• Visually design concepts, prototypes and final products to communicate and test design concepts.
• Design visual and interactive elements such as icons, logos, buttons, graphs, templates, patterns that visual complete the teams content.
• Create data visualizations and partner with Front-end and Back-End Engineers to scope feasibility.
• Develop rapid prototypes with team and can present them to stakeholders quickly to gauge response.
• Iterates on designs based on feedback and regularly tests designs.
• Understands the context of the data being used on the project.
• Finds opportunities to innovate artistically in the data visualization space.

 

 

Qualifications for a Sr. UI Designer:

 

• Technical/Hands-on experience building web interfaces with UX/UI authoring tools.
• Experience in design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Axure, Balsamiq, Adobe XD.
• Proven track-record designing/implementing UI features for web apps including icons, logos, and other branding.
• Outstanding skills in designing and creating assets/visuals for the web.
• Strong understanding of web design patterns.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter; capable of operating with minimal management oversight.
• BS or BA Degree in HCI/Design, or equivalent, and +3 years' experience in the industry is preferred.
• Pluses include:
  • Experience with usability testing.
  • Scripting skills to scrap, manipulate and/or visualize data.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies.
