We are a group of DevOps engineers who collaborate with multiple teams to provide online services that enhance the game experience. We support a billion-dollar video game franchises as well as advertising units within EA. Our environments are continuously challenged by marketing promotions, game launches, and security threats. We are passionate about automation and ensuring high standards.

What a DevOps Engineer does at EA:

  • Respond to outages and alerts quickly to ensure public availability of our online services.
  • Refine processes to develop a culture of quality and high availability.
  • Automate processes to increase efficiency wherever possible.
  • Help architect and implement solutions that solve complicated application challenges around performance, scaling, and security.
  • Instrument monitoring solutions to gain insight into application performance and understand emerging issues.
  • Maintain deployment software and tools (Jenkins, Chef, etc.)
  • Work closely with developers to ensure on time delivery of services. 

The next great EA DevOps Engineer also needs:

  • 2+ years’ experience with VMware and working in a virtualized environment.
  • Understanding of middleware, proxies and application integration.
  • Understanding of Content Distribution Network services and configurations.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience.
  • Experience administering Java based technologies: Spring, JBOSS, Jetty, Tomcat.
  • Working knowledge of databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
  • Experience working with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or OpenStack
  • Working knowledge of networking (load balancing, TCP/IP, Virtual IP, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of storage (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, etc.)
  • Continuous integration and delivery tools like Chef, Puppet and Jenkins.
