The Challenge Ahead: 

EA’s Digital Platform (EADP) organization is responsible for driving critical technology decisions and investments for EA on a global basis, across all divisions and studio teams. Technology and engineering leadership at EA is critical to making the industry’s best games and services and the EADP team is leading the way to providing cross-platform infrastructure that will keep our consumers connected with our games anytime, anywhere with anyone. 

 

What a Sr. Director, Strategic Planning & Engagement does at EA: 

As a Sr. Director, Strategic Planning & Engagement you will drive and deliver strategic product roadmaps and work closely with our most senior leaders in studios and marketing to deliver new capabilities that enable an incredible player journey to the millions of EA players.  In addition the Sr. Director, Digital Platform, Strategic Planning & Engagement will:

 

  • Customer (Studio) Engagement:
    • Guide the studio teams in identifying and adopting the right features in the platform
    • Evangelize EA Platform product with customers and represent customers’ business needs to the platform teams
    • Communicate feature and platform development plans with customer teams
    • Act as the EADP resident expert and representative of the customer’s business  to the platform team
    • Drive monthly/quarterly CTO meeting with customer executive and team
    • Act as a senior escalation point for customer issues
    • Drive Studio/EADP workshops
    • Accountable for the health of the engagement new features for a game studio and delivery of platform services to meet customer needs and timelines
    • Understand customer needs to develop new/changed platform product needs
    • Advise customer in using platform products and or developing stop-gap measures
    • Understand the long-term needs of the customer and align EADP roadmap

 

  • Product Management
    • Help EADP leadership team develop Platform and Product vision documentation
    • Identify, document and prioritize customer needs as new products and/or features
    • Collaborate with Product Leads to develop product features and solutions to meet customer needs
    • Help develop, review and edit product evangelization materials as needed
    • Help develop quarterly development plans
    • Drive and develop pan-EADP product solutions to best meet customers’ needs

 

  • Product Operations
    • Have deep knowledge of current and future platform products to be able to support and consult solutions to customer needs
    • Identify product deliverable dependencies and ensure that products and/or services are delivered on time
    • Facilitate and/or shape communication between Domains and Customers in case of major issue/outage and/or product release

 

The next great EA Sr. Director, Strategic Planning & Engagement needs: 

  • Minimum 7 years product management or related experience
  • Demonstrated product management leadership
  • Deep understanding on large scale platform capabilities and enough technical depth across these capabilities to assess risk and deliver cutting edge solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of management
  • Good understanding of HD and mobile gaming industry, development, platforms, and ecosystems
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and partner across complex organizations

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computers Science
  • Masters is preferred
