The Challenge Ahead:

 

The EA Content & Digital Strategy Engineering team is looking for a talented Developer to join their team in Cologne, Germany. This presents some fantastic opportunities for ambitious individuals looking for an exciting new challenge, to learn, grow, and create high quality tools for our VFX Production Pipeline.


As a Associate Software Developer, you will design, implement and maintain cross-platform desktop and server applications - solving complex problems in the domain of VFX Production Pipelines with Content Producers, Artists and other Engineers.

 

Please note that this role is a 24 month contract.

 

What a Associate Software Developer does at EA:
 

  • Works closely with the marketing team to develop user-friendly tools; easy to manage and efficient VFX production pipelines; and optimal workflow that aid in the development and iteration of media content.
  • Develops and maintains plug-ins and stand-alone applications used in the creation and automation of media production, server applications connecting systems through their APIs, etc.
  • Evaluates and integrates 3rd party tools and APIs.
  • Writes technical design specifications.
  • Designs, maintains, implements, tests and debugs code.
  • Keeps track of VFX vendor roadmaps and feature rollouts, as well as assesses/communicates new opportunities.

 

The next great Associate Software Developer also needs:
 

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
  • Solid software development skills with experience developing in Python.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
  • Experience using HTTP and designing REST APIs with required security protocols.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices.
