BioWare is looking for an experienced and passionate Director of Art and Animation to drive excellence at BioWare across all of its locations and projects. This position reports into the Director of Operations of the BioWare Studios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain and execute a Vision for the Art & Animation department to drive studio goals
  • As a member of the BioWare Leadership Team, actively engage in strategic studio discussions
  • Drive excellence in the Art & Animation team:
    • Build a high performance Art & Animation team, through understanding the employees’ strengths, areas for development, aspirations and motivations
    • Define responsibilities for roles at each level, with standardized titles
    • Conduct consistent performance and compensation reviews of staff members
    • Provide feedback and coaching to individuals to support their career progression
    • Provide training opportunities for leadership, individual contributors, and cultural development
  • Educate the studio on Art & Animation roles and how best to work together
  • Establish best practices for Art & Animation methodology, tools, processes
  • Lead change by ensuring  stakeholders alignment at the department and studio level
  • Develop, maintain, and drive strategic workforce planning for the Art & Animation team
    • Participate in Resource Management Group (RMG) and project resourcing
  • Connect with Art & Animation leaders across EA on Production best practices and initiatives
  • Build and leverage industry connections for team development and recruiting purposes
  • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence in order to effectively work with partners and stakeholders at multiple levels (department, , studio, EA and industry)
  • Stay current on the latest game and industry trends to ensure BioWare remains competitive
  • Hold BioWare games to a high quality standard for Art & Animation
