Role:

 

The QA Manager position will play QA Project Owner role for the EA Access, Origin Access as well as future subscription and player acquisition products and services. The position requires a blend of leadership, project management and partner/relationship management in order to be successful. The QA Manager will own the Integrated Quality Strategy for Acquire and oversee a large, multi-discipline & distributed Quality Program, inclusive of Quality Analysts, Quality Engineers and Quality Managers.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement an Integrated Quality Strategy for all acquisition and subscription services/product across the EAX portfolio that addresses Quality across the entire lifecycle, during Development and Live Operation.
  • Recruit, manage, train and evaluate the performance of the embedded QA personnel
  • Program manage ONE QA teams such Quality Engineering, Quality Experience and Quality Management. Formulate strong relationships with Dev and other partner groups.
  • Collaborate with partners in development and finance to define schedules and establish QA budgets
  • Collaborate with team leadership to improve overall product quality by emphasizing defect prevention throughout the development process
  • Continually improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the QA effort by assessing current quality assurance practices and incorporating new strategies
  • Be internal advocate and spokesperson for all things QA. Clearly communicate issues, risks, concerns, and successes to stakeholders
  • Identify project risks, prevention, and mitigation strategies.  Take appropriate steps to resolve issues including changes to work methods, technologies, and influencing partner group behaviors.
  • Contribute directly to performance evaluation of individuals and teams, compiling objective feedback that is channeled toward both personal and process improvement
  • Defining and implementing critical knowledge transfer and communication processes with internal and external teams

 

What skills does EA look for? Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years software testing/QA experience with at least 2 years in a management role
  • Must have proven experience with QA tools and methodologies
  • Proven track record of leading QA programs in agile environments
  • Experience managing projects, including establishing project plans, project budgets, and determining task dependencies, assigning tasks, and implementing operational changes
  • Have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, recognizing and balancing priorities and identifying new methods to deal with issues
  • Demonstrated leadership capability

  • Proven track record of leading QA programs in agile environments
  • Able to effectively organize others (both QA and Dev) to execute plans and collate results.
  • Strong decision-making skills, able to review facts, weigh options and anticipate consequences of decisions.
  • Have effective organizational and people management skills
  • Experience managing projects, including establishing project plans, project budgets, and determining task dependencies, assigning tasks, and implementing operational changes
  • Pro-active, motivated, and energetic
  • Influential and able to persuade those not directly in your reporting structure
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, identifying root causes of issues and providing detailed summaries to the development teams
  • Understanding of EA’s Game Development Framework and EA Digital Platform’s tools and technology an asset
  • Flexible and dynamic – quickly adapt to changing needs of the business
  • Commercial awareness - the ability to view situations from a commercial or business perspective.
