EAX is a high performing team within EA that manages the majority of the web ecosystem for EA, including destinations such as Origin, EA.com, and more. EAX is looking to build a team of highly talented UI engineers to deliver an atomic design system that will help shape the future of EA’s web presence.

What you will do:

• Hands-on crafting of CSS, HTML, and JS for an atomic design system
• Provide the foundations of an atomic design system for React Native supported platforms
• Be part of a ~10-15 person cross functional scrum team
• Own technical direction, design and implementation for features
• Work closely with Experience Design throughout the design and development process
• Actively participate in project scoping, planning, design, and execution
• Deliver iterative value for our players, marketing and game franchise partners
• Contribute to building a modular and performant design system
• Use your knowledge of software engineering concepts to design and implement tested, reusable, and modular code
• Apply knowledge of the business goals to derive innovative solutions for the project, team, and group
• Be an active learner who is up for expanding your breadth of knowledge
• Have passion for your craft. You feel ownership over everything you ship.

Skills and experience:

• Strong technical and practical understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, and 7+ year relevant work experience
• Solid understanding using front-end build tools such as Webpack, Rollup, Grunt, Gulp, Browserify, and npm scripts
• Familiarity with design systems such as Material Design or SalesForce Lightning
• Experience with delivering mobile applications that leverage React Native
• Experience with React
• Familiarity with JavaScript front-end testing tools and methodology
• Experience working in a cross functional Scrum team
• Experience using Git and related tools like GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket etc
• Experience with ES6
• Experience with front-end performance topics / rendering internals
• Experience mentoring peers, and delivering technical presentations
• Experience delivering system-level technical design and documentation
• Proficiency with CSS processors such as PostCSS, Sass, or Less
• Experience with SEO
• Experience with Progressive Web Applications

Bonus Skills and experience:

• Experience implementing design systems
• Experience with Typescript
• Experience building Web Components
• Experience with UI / UX
• Experience with GraphQL
• Experience with server-side development using nodeJS, PHP, Java, Ruby or Python
• Experience working in server side frameworks such as Koa, Play, Symfony, Rails, Express or Django.
• Experience with TechOps / infrastructure systems - Amazon Web Services, Chef and Jenkins
