External Description:

Position Overview

This internship position will work in the Competitive Gaming Division, in the Commercialization area.  The Commercialization area will work across most facets of the business side of the business, including building an audience, expanding media rights and partnerships, build sponsor partnerships, working on the structural and commercial aspects of the Competitive ecosystem (e.g. sanction fees, event funding, franchise investments, etc.), and other new areas to explore (e.g. licensing, photo syndication, etc.).  Given that we are in the early stages of building this business, the role may vary across different parts of the Commercialization efforts and projects. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead at least one project from start to finish. The project is TBD, but, we will work to have this person own a scope, plan it, and compete the work during the summer.  Topics from the areas described above.
  • Contributor to Other projects/efforts. This person will help the VP, Commercialization with a variety of work and efforts.  Again, spanning the realm of the above, from media to sponsorship to other.
  • This person will also have a few areas where they will be asked to look deeper into an area, provide information on how it is today (e.g. As-is), and recommend how the EA Competitive Gaming Division could/should engage.  Some of this work could be external (e.g. look at potential sponsor targets, media partners), or, it could be more internal (e.g. look at EA social media, and determine best way for Competitive Gaming to engage).

 Required Work Experience and Skills:

  • esports experience a plus
  • Business experience a plus, e.g. media, sponsorship, investment, audience growth
  • Analytical and quantitative: Experience with Excel to help us as we look at various opportunities in a fact based and projections manner
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Presentation Skills: Experience in creating strong, clear, concise Powerpoints
  • Information gathering skills: Experience with online research, social media, intuitive, and creative in finding information
  • MBA from a strong school preferred
