Position Title: Associate Quality Designer

Sr. Quality Analyst – Systems/Tech - Motive

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia CA

As a Sr. Quality Analyst, you will join our growing team in Vancouver and play a key role in ensuring our games meet the highest level of quality for our players. Your role will involve a strong level of partnership with a broad range of partners, including software engineers, designers, artists and your fellow QA team members. You will have a passion for the gaming industry and strong desire to help evolve the process and tools used to deliver a great game.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering technical, quantitative and qualitative feedback for your assigned features of the game.
  • Leading prevention, containment and detection strategies for the team using tools, automation and data.
  • Forming partnerships with key engineering team members to collaborate on driving process improvement using tools, automation and workflow improvements.
  • Utilizing various testing methodologies on appropriate features/tools, while also analyzing feature sets to find opportunities for automation.
  • Using data to improve the efficiency of test coverage plan.
  • Acting as a mentor and champion on the QA team to help drive adoption of Automation and Testing tool usage.
  • Partnering closely with the Quality Engineering team to create the titles Tech plan and guiding the team on the delivery of the requested tools.
  • Reporting on the risks associated with your immediate area of ownership as well as those within the overall game that could have an impact to quality or delivery.
  • Leading the team on central technology integration including the Frostbite Integration process.

Skills:

  • Ability to build strong partnerships with development, QA and Quality Engineering team members.
  • Dedicated, flexible, and able to adapt QA process to the critical needs of partner teams.
  • Understands concepts of defect prevention and defect containment.
  • Experienced with Grey/White box testing in development environments.
  • Understands the value of automated testing and is able to identify future areas for automation usage.
  • Familiar with common automation toolsets, EA proprietary tools are a plus.
  • Active listener with both peers and partners, can drive conversations, and supports team participation.
  • Ability to Identify innovation opportunities, and clearly articulate potential areas for improvement including an assessment of the expected ROI.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills, with a curiosity and desire to understand how the underlying features are built.

Experience:

  • 3+ Years of QA testing experience, with 2 years within embedded environments.
  • Prior knowledge of QA processes, methodologies, and testing techniques, automated and manual test processes, test case design and execution, regression testing, load testing and tools/automation based testing.
  • Demonstrated ability working in an embedded environment partnering with Development, Production and QA team members.
