As part of EA's Central Development Services - Shared Components team at EA Vancouver, this role provides an opportunity to work with product teams across EA globally to contribute UX / UI designs across multiple products and tools. This role will report into the Shared Components Director and will involve collaboration with UX researchers, user community, UX / UI designers from other product teams, and stakeholders. This role requires strong design, communication, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create designs from initial concepts / wireframes to finished art ready for implementation
  • Define problem spaces and lead design solutions rooted in user data
  • Develop UX design strategies to align with specific product pillars
  • Design, plan and refine user experience and flow for multiple projects at varying production stages
  • Use analytics and focus group data to improve designs
  • Partner with creative team, development team, and stakeholders to set design priorities and find balanced solutions to complex user, business and technical challenges
  • Facilitate collaborative design sessions including sketching and experience mapping
  • Conduct UXD evaluations focused on optimizing usability
  • Thrive in a fast paced work environment requiring independent self-direction with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication
  • Actively promote and share UX / UI / Usability principles and practices

Requirements

  • Degree in Interaction Design, Psychology, HCI or demonstrated proficiency and experiences (5+ years) in the field of user experience and visual design
  • Expert knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Ability to create low to high fidelity prototypes and mockups
  • Experience with user research methodologies and user data analysis (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Ability to effectively translate user data into design solutions and quickly iterate on them
  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Photoshop, Axure, or any visual design Rapid Prototyping software, etc...)
  • Efficient and effective at presenting and rationalizing design strategy and decisions to diverse audiences including executives, using these opportunities to educate and evangelize
  • Positive attitude and ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Strong ability to manage feedback and iterate on design
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic and able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Unity and/or HTML experience is a definite asset
