External Description:

Development Manager - External Development 

Come manage with us a variety of responsibilities in partnership with internal team members, clients, EA partners, and external 3rd party developers. 

You will work with client teams such as EA Create Art, EA Shanghai, and even non-content partners to find content creation solutions and scalability by applying standardized processes for requirements gathering, requirements analysis, and 3rd party vendor shortlisting, testing and selection, or alternative solutions. 

The Ex Dev D.M's are keepers of the external development artifacts for each engagement, such as external development schedules, staffing plan, budget, travel and onsite, training, partners register, risk register, metric reporting, and communications plan. You will report to an Orlando Development Director.

Responsibilities:

The Ex Dev D.M's also serves as an escalation point for internal team and 3rd party development teams when production issues need resolution. 

Leadership: 

  • Build partnerships including, establishing trust and credibility with EA Studios and Vendor studios around the globe and us. 
  • Seek knowledge and develop process improvements and apply them to improve us. 
  • Provide line management to employees across departments within a single project team 
  • Communicate with project teams and coordinate requirements with external partners 
  • Drive collaboration with other Ex Dev team members and Content teams such as Global Resourcing, Business Operations, and EA Create. 

Development: 

  • Supply data visuals on external development projects. 
  • Mitigate risk for assigned scope and work with product owners and tech leads to resolve problems that come up 
  • Partner with client D.D's, Leads and TA's to manage scope and quality 
  • Take ownership and see projects through despite obstacles and difficult circumstances, while demonstrating a sense of commitment.
  • Help improve all Ex Dev processes including applying the best tools, review practices and collaborative relationships (within and external to Content teams) 
  • Balance priorities, analyze situations and find creative solutions to achieve results 
  • Create a monthly summary around team metrics. 
  • Help improve work order standardization's across external development. 
  • Work with team members on department goals to help complete on a faster timeline. 

Project management: 

  • Support overall external development project schedule bookings on the individual task estimates for content development 
  • Determine the resource requirements to meet the task requirements 
  • Establish a project budget, staffing plan, onsite and training plan, determine task requirements, and assign tasks to team resources
  • Work with an individual artist to help with production documents and standardization. 
  • Track work progress and report status back to product owners. 

Host review calls with vendors and artists to monitor project status and updates.

  • Experience in multiple project management methodologies 
  • You can work in a diverse and collaborative environment with us.
  • Understand metrics, game development, and some of the art domain.
  • Able to travel outside the United States 

Experience
