Position Title: Manager II, Accounting (IC)

External Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our accounting team in the Bay Area to establish a corporate compliance deal desk. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Working with business and compliance teams to ensure arrangements are reviewed for adherence to policies and processes and providing review.
  • Partner with the business and compliance team members to problem solve and assist to resolve questions and address open items for arrangements 
  • Assist teams to follow contract review and signature authority requirements while maintaining a partner first approach 
  • Provide ongoing training of business and compliance teams related to contract review  
  • Develop and document accounting and process related playbooks or establish standard contract templates to allow repeatable processes and scale, where needed 
  • Identify and guide implementation of new tools and process improvements to support contract review process with legal and IT 
  • Review contracts and projects to ensure compliance with EA Policies and GAAP and to document key financial and accounting conclusions 
  • Research and understand complex & intermediate technical details and processes, then interpret and present in lay terms to non-technical finance and partners 
  • Help with additional projects

Skills and experience 

  • BS in Accounting or equivalent 
  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent 
  • 8 or more years relevant financial accounting experience, including team management experience .
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP (including expense recognition and Revenue Recognition ASC 606) 
  • Working knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 
  • Management and delegation skills 
  • Understand business issues and translate into solutions
  • Passion for process definition and organizational understanding
