Role Overview

The Internal Communications Specialist is accountable for producing media to document Development Technology & Services (DTS) processes and help our teams stay informed. the information being shared may include key strategic updates, team to team best practices and shared knowledge and similar organizational knowledge opportunities that arise through the day to day operations. They will assist in end-to-end content production of various internal communications projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Reporting to the manager, DTS learning & communications, the Internal Communications Specialist will work with other team members across the world/globe to deliver communications and develop materials to meet project needs. This will require working with related subject matter experts to create compelling content. the internal communications specialist will use expertise in video and graphics tools to build assets and final communication products to suit.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Video and Communications Production and support

  • Develop strategic communication materials and learning materials through video content (e.g. demos, branding, interviews, educational, explainer, scribe/animated videos)
  • Assist in written and visual media materials for online communication tools including email, intranet, blog, and social media
  • Collaborate with the DTS Learning & Communications team to develop communications plans in support of strategic priorities, assist on specific projects in order to deliver critical prioritized materials
  • Support other team projects, initiatives, and campaigns as needed.

 

General

  • Be aware of key strategic, operational, or organizational trends across EA but particularly in EA Studios and DTS in order to help identify communications opportunities
  • DTS is a worldwide organization supporting thousands of staff. DTS Communications has the unique challenge of identifying key opportunities ripe for global communication messaging, as well as the most effective route to delivery of those messages. DTS Communications is a dynamic area where there are peak periods of activity, where the workload and the prioritization of may vary. Therefore, it is necessary that the applicant has experience in working in a team environment of constant change and adaptability to change. This will require a flexible approach to working hours, as well as a flexible approach.

Skills & Qualifications:

Skills and Experience Required

  • Advanced level in using Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides to create impactful presentations
  • Broader knowledge and some experience in tools such as Prezi, Video Authoring tools, Photoshop/Paintshop/GIMP, Power BI
  • Intermediate understanding of tools in the Adobe Suite, including After Effects, Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Two years of proven experience in a communications environment with short deadlines
  • Manage editorial tasks in line with the master project schedule through to delivery
  • Creative and proven ability to produce quality and informative content
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Experience in professional or amateur scriptwriting. Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Must submit for review any of the following: 1) Solely authored video, 2) Graphic work that conveys a critical message in an infographic or job aid form, 3) Written communication sample that conveys a critical message to a large group or audience

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Introductory to intermediate understanding of tools such as Slack, JIRA, Enterprise Google Drive and related apps
  • A passion for games, the industry, its history as well as the latest trends
  • Understand the tone and pacing of internal communications: Inform, Engage and Demonstrate
