Partnership Manager (Marcom) – EA SPORTS NHL, EA SPORTS UFC, EA SPORTS NBA Live

Aim

The EA SPORTS (NHL, UFC, NBA Live) Partnership Manager is responsible for creating and executing holistic, multi-channel digital marketing plans across sports partner channels in service of global marketing objectives and strategies. Examples of strategic partners managed by the Partnership Manager include professional sports teams across the NHL and NBA; athletes in hockey, basketball and mixed martial arts; and global sports apparel brands. Applying extensive experience in producing multi-channel digital sports marketing campaigns, the Partnership Manager would seek to leverage strategic partner channels to drive 1) brand awareness, 2) product exposure/consideration, and 3) product acquisition.

 

Responsibilities

  • Aligning with key partners in Brand Management and Marcom to understand business goals, global marketing objectives and strategies. Work with Brand Management, Marcom Strategy and Marcom Activation to apply player, market, sport and product insights toward a Talent Strategy Brief.
  • Leverage the Talent Strategy brief to create a holistic partner marketing plan, including content plans and an activation roadmap that tells an engaging narrative across all relevant partner channels that are built to scale across multiple touchpoints and player journeys.
  • Partner with teams/athletes/leagues/licensors/brands to align on terms of co-marketing agreement and activation roadmap across their channels.
  • Partner with cross-functional EA teams, including Production and Marcom Activation, to produce and execute content including in partnership activation plans.
  • Execute, measure, and optimize content deployment and messaging across partner channels; continually assessing performance, reporting key KPIs and formulating optimization plans to ensure campaign targets are achieved.
  • Be a champion for the EA SPORTS brand internally and externally; inspiring innovative, creative marketing execution and results through passion, dedication and a relentless pursuit of goals.

 

Deliverables

  • Assist in the Talent Strategy Brief:partner with Brand Management, Marcom Strategy and Marcom Activation leads to assist in the creation of a strategic talent brief that aligns to global marketing objectives. 
  • Create the Partner Activation Plan:  Based on the Talent Strategy brief, create a holistic plan that includes partner targets, activation plans with partners, content roadmap and player journeys on their channels.
  • Secure partner agreements: Approach and align on agreements with target partners that support the Partner Activation plan, including initial partner alignment and managing internal processes with stakeholder teams (Legal, Business Affairs) to secure deals.
  • Produce partner channel content: collaborate with internal Production and Activation teams to produce content identified in Partner Activation plan and bring content and messaging to readiness to be activated on partner channels.
  • Partner reports and optimization plans: measure and assess KPIs across partner channels to determine efficacy and ROI of Partner Activation plan; develop optimization plans to ensure targets and objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional partner relations skills.
  • ~5 years working in a marketing/communications role that includes development of consumer-facing narratives told through digital content.
  • Experience in multiple disciplines of communications and marketing.
  • Flexible and dynamic with the ability to adapt to changing goals and objectives.
  • Experience working in a matrixed team environment.
  • Experience with the NHL, NBA and UFC brands and/or authentic passion & enthusiasm for the space.
  • Experience working on global marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to engage and liaise with cross-functional teams.
