The EA Global Analytics and Insights group (GAI) is responsible for bringing both quantitative and qualitative insights to the entire company, via Consumer Insights, User Experience Research, Studio Analytics, Marketing Analytics and Data Science.  The GAI Technology team is the internal cross functional team covering both Research & Analytics, driving the most optimized and effective ways of delivering our integrated actionable insights.  As we lead both strategic and tactical initiatives across the GAI Organization, we are accountable for ensuring the Research & Analytics teams have the tech, tools and collaboration they need to constantly improve our capabilities and effectiveness of delivery.

The Challenge Ahead:

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Global Analytics & Insights department as a Senior Cloud Dev Ops Engineer, working with a team of highly skilled developers and delivering complex development projects for internal systems across a variety of products and technologies.

This role offers challenges across a range of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the department and systems used across the business.

To apply for this role, you must have a proven technical capability and a track record in software development and cloud engineering. You are a motivated individual who is experienced in taking responsibility and can independently deliver results on both departmental and business projects.

 

Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Play a lead role in the technical design and ongoing development of cloud-native data solutions, driving continuous improvement in design and delivery standards; understanding and contributing from design through to code level
  • Partner with the technical director and data solutions architect to understand requirements, evaluate options, develop roadmaps and ensure needs are addressed in a complex, dynamic multi-stakeholder environment
  • Work with, mentor, and coach junior engineers in the techniques and craft of building scalable and supportable cloud infrastructure
  • Assess and recommend available and emerging cloud-based data and analytics technologies
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems reliability, efficiency and quality

 

 

 

 

What a Senior Cloud Dev Ops Engineer at EA does:

  • Develop and deploy systems to ensure quality, reliability, and efficiency of data solutions
  • Build data tools and products to suit the needs of Global Analytics and Insights data engineers
  • Generate designs for improvements or additions to all aspects of the cloud infrastructure stack, and effectively communicate those designs both to team leads and engineers
  • Provide high quality code reviews and feedback to engineers
  • Prototype, compare, and test new frameworks and technologies and make recommendations based on the results to team leads

Our next Senior Cloud Dev Ops Engineer at EA will have:

  • Experience building and optimizing cloud-native solutions and architectures
  • Experience in the physical and logical design of network architecture for cloud, including network security architecture, load-balancing, DR failover, and performance tuning
  • Expertise with cloud-based tech stacks and database technologies
  • Excellent personal organization, ability to prioritize, proactively drive tasks to completion
  • Expertise with container technologies and container orchestration frameworks, for example Docker and Kubernetes, and their offerings on Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and Azure
  • Experience in software development (e.g., Python, C#, Java)
  • A desire to remain technically capable and an expert in current technologies
  • Strong sense of ownership, drive and ability to deliver results
