The Studio

Electronic Arts’ Firemonkeys Studio in Melbourne, Australia is highly regarded throughout the industry as a leading mobile game studio.  We release new meaningful updates on a regular basis for games such as Real Racing 3, The Sims FreePlay, Need for Speed, and The Sims Mobile.

The Role

We are seeking an Illustrator/2D Artist who is passionate about creating compelling images, game-ready art, vehicle wraps and graphics, and is eager to support a small team.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D art, which includes cars, graphic layouts and marketing-style images for the game.
• Participate in planning and milestone delivery for the assets.
• Work in small, cross-functional, team to create the best gaming experiences possible.
• Ideate and iterate concepts/thumbnails quickly and clearly.
• Participate in establishing and maintaining the highest visual quality bar overall for the game.

Skills and Experience

• 2-6 years as a professional 2D artist
• Background in mobile games/gaming/ film/tv/creative marketing art
• A clear understanding of how to translate model renders and graphic concepts into high fidelity, images.
• Proficiency in photoshop and illustrator
• An understanding of UI and UX design practices
• Ability to present creative ideas clearly and concisely
• Excellent design and digital drawing/painting skills highlighting colour, value, composition.
• Ability to generate top-notch art and design in a variety of styles and a portfolio of work demonstrating the same
• Self-motivated and able to work well both independently and on a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
