ROLE OVERVIEW 

We are now searching for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Engineering Services Automation Platform team. The Automation Platform goals are to replace manual testing with automated testing. This includes tools that enables all EA game teams to instrument our games for automation by externalising automation, building infrastructure, deploying builds to targets, test scheduling, hardware leasing, test execution and test result collection and reporting. As we are looking to the future, the team are looking to support an existing suite of tools and inspire creativity around product improvements leading to innovations for future product development.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

  • 3+ years of industry technical experience with application development in C# .NET 
  • Knowledge and proficiency with MS SQL and ADO.NET
  • Experience analysing and rooting cause issues in production systems.
  • Experience with socket programming and network communication. Developing and debugging applications sending and receiving data over TCP/IP sockets on peer to peer basis in an asynchronous fashion.
  • Familiarity with multi-threaded systems that requires the processing of a high number of events and data volumes
  • Knowledge with Configuration Management, especially with building Continuous Integration systems and Test Automation systems.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins CI, Perforce, vSphere / VMware, server Configuration Management
  • Knowledge of test automation or development process improvements.

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Industry technical experience with object-oriented programming in C++
  • Experience with Video Game development
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures and Web Services, specifically using WCF for inter-service communication.
  • Passion for the entertainment industry and distributed development.
  • Experience working with a distributed organisation
