EAX is a high performing team within EA that manages several digital distribution and subscription products including Origin and EA Access. Access allows users to purchase subscriptions and games on PC and console platforms. Users can stay connected to everything Access, take their pick of all the great games in ‘The Vault’ and play as much as they want for a low monthly, and even lower annual, subscription fee. In addition, they can put upcoming EA games to the test before the release date with exclusive Play First Trials.

We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of highly skilled engineers, focused on delivering exceptional commerce and social experiences to our consumers on Windows, Mac and web via our Origin www.origin.com and Franchise websites www.ea.com.

 

As the engineering manager, you will unify the technological problem-solving abilities of our engineering team and the organizational, administrative, and planning abilities of our management team. You will partner with our production and technology teams to drive the evolution of our live services, releasing new features resolving issues and monitoring key system health KPI. You will report to our Head of Engineering.

 

What you will do

• Delivering on product vision in partnership with Production, Design and other teams.
• Exceeding our Live Services SLA’s to deliver great player experiences. Delivering and test new features in a live service environment.
• Working with peers and the Head of Engineering to deliver the technical strategy to enable focused business direction.
• Ensuring overall quality of code, utilizing engineering best practices around testing and sustainable software development
• Collaborating across groups within EAX and across EA to coordinate engineering plans and standards
• Identifying and creating mitigation plans for technical risks including online security
• Analyzing: Collaborating without production team and other stakeholders to break down high-level requirements into actionable development strategies.
• Coaching engineering: Act as a role model, coach and mentor to team members.

 

Skills and experience

• Leading engineering teams
• Building and running scalable web applications and services
• With Agile development continuous delivery
• Developing Windows and Mac applications (a plus)
