Position Title: Quality Analyst II

L’analyste, Vérification de la qualité de l’interface/expérience utilisateur (UI/UX) collabore avec l’équipe de développement afin de superviser la qualité du contenu, des systèmes techniques et des outils au moment de leur livraison. L’analyste fera partie de l’équipe de conception et travaillera à ses côtés dans le cadre de la planification et de la réalisation des tests et des rapports dans ce domaine. L’analyste UI/UX doit faire appel à des techniques analytiques éprouvées (processus itératif composé de caractérisations, d’hypothèses, de prédictions et d’expérimentation).

Responsabilités principales

  • Collaborer avec des développeurs pour passer en revue les éléments suivants :
    • Collaboration avec les responsables UI/UX et les DD pour déterminer les critères d’acceptation et le processus de révision des attributs
    • Vérifications ponctuelles auprès des équipes de développement relativement aux processus et aux nouvelles caractéristiques avant leur soumission
    • Vérification des processus UI/UX pour les nouvelles intégrations
  • Exécuter une recherche analytique concurrentielle des caractéristiques et des systèmes, fournir des sommaires détaillés des forces et des faiblesses
  • Tester et explorer les caractéristiques du système de conception à mesure qu’elles sont développées, en mettant l’accent sur les lacunes potentielles en matière de fonctionnalité, d’expérience utilisateur et d’extensibilité
  • Comprendre l’élaboration des nouveaux outils selon le point de vue de l’expérience utilisateur
  • Procéder à l’analyse d’un jeu dans le but d’offrir une rétroaction ciblée, détaillée et pertinente
  • Aider à repérer et à cerner la cause fondamentale des problèmes difficiles à reproduire
  • Offrir une rétroaction exécutable et descriptive capable de cibler les lacunes du projet et d’en souligner les forces
  • Définir les risques potentiels et traiter les préoccupations liées aux processus et aux équipes UI/UX et Vérification de la qualité
  • Collaborer avec les équipes de test pour veiller à la couverture adéquate de leur domaine de test
  • Favoriser les relations entre les équipes de développement et d’assurance qualité pour encourager la collaboration entre les deux disciplines
  • Tirer des leçons et partager les connaissances avec le reste de l’équipe d’analystes de la qualité

Exigences

  • Au moins 1 an d’expérience dans un environnement de développement logiciel agile et au soutien direct d’une équipe de développeurs dans un tel environnement
  • Grande connaissance des cycles de développement de jeux
  • Expérience de test des systèmes et des processus de conception, idéalement dans les moteurs de jeu
  • Excellente compréhension des concepts d’assurance qualité logicielle, des processus et des procédures de dépannage
  • Connaissance des tendances de l’industrie et des attentes des consommateurs et capacité d’offrir une rétroaction exécutable et qualitative en la matière
  • Compétence technique modérée dans l’utilisation des outils disponibles pour maximiser l’efficacité des tests et cerner les occasions supplémentaires de tests assistés par outils
  • Solides compétences en communication écrite et orale
  • Fortes compétences d’observation et de résolution de problèmes, esprit analytique et souci du détail
  • Proactivité dans l’exécution des tâches et le transfert des problèmes aux personnes appropriées
  • Excellentes habiletés organisationnelles et capacité de gérer la charge de travail de manière autonome

Compétences et connaissances privilégiées

  • Expérience en rédaction et en exécution de scripts de test à l’aide des outils de gestion de test de l’industrie comme DevTest ou TestRail, et en utilisation de bases de données de bogues comme Jira
  • Compréhension approfondie des concepts d’assurance qualité logicielle, des processus et des procédures de dépannage
  • Expérience et connaissance d’au moins un moteur de jeu, de préférence en création d’éléments UI
  • Expérience avec les langages de script
  • Compréhension de la jouabilité de seconde en seconde d’un vaste éventail de titres et capacité d’appliquer cette rétroaction aux priorités de développement en cours
  • Capacité de décortiquer les systèmes de jeu du point de vue de l’utilisateur final, ainsi que de collaborer avec l’équipe de développement pour isoler les secteurs de risques potentiels d’un point de vue structurel
  • Connaissance des consoles de jeu ou des systèmes embarqués un atout

The UI/UX Quality Verification Analyst is responsible for working with development team to oversee the quality of content, tech systems and tools as they are delivered. This person will be embedded with the design team and will work alongside them to assist in the planning and execution of testing and reporting for this area. The UI/UX Analyst must use strong proven analytical techniques (iterative process consisting of characterizations, hypotheses, predictions, and experimentation).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with developers to review the following:
    • Working with UI/UX leads and DD's to determine acceptance criteria and feature review process
    • Periodic check ins with devs to verify their workflows and new features prior to submission.
    • Verifying UI/UX related workflows for new integrations.
  • Perform Competitive Analysis research of features and systems, providing detailed breakdown summaries of strengths and weaknesses.
  • Test and explore design system features as they are developed, highlighting potential gaps in functionality, user experience and scalability.
  • Understand how new tools are being built with an eye for the end-user experience.
  • Analyzing a game with the end goal of providing specific, in-depth and relevant feedback
  • Help track down and identify root causes of difficult to reproduce issues.
  • Providing actionable, descriptive feedback in a manner that can target the projects deficiencies and highlight its strengths
  • Identifying potential risks and addressing concerns for workflows and both UI/UX and QV teams
  • Collaborate with testing teams to ensure that their areas of testing are adequately covered.
  • Build relationships between Dev and QA to encourage collaboration between the two disciplines.
  • Take learnings and spread the knowledge amongst the rest of the Quality Analyst team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience embedded and directly supporting a team of developers in an agile software development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of game development cycles.
  • Experience with testing design systems and workflows, ideally within game engines.
  • Excellent understanding of software quality assurance concepts, debugging processes and procedures.
  • Awareness of industry trends/consumer expectations, and providing actionable, qualitative feedback based around it.
  • Moderate technical proficiency to utilize available tools to maximize testing efficiency, and to identify opportunities for additional tool assisted testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong observational and problem solving skills, analytical and detail oriented
  • Proactive in completing tasks and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to self-drive workload.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience writing and executing test scripts using industry test management tools like DevTest or TestRail, and utilizing bug databases such as Jira.
  • Thorough understanding of software quality assurance concepts, debugging processes and procedures.
  • Experience and understanding of at least one game engine, preferably in the creation of UI elements.
  • Experience with any scripting languages.
  • Understanding second to second gameplay in a broad range of titles and being able to apply that feedback to the current dev priorities.
  • Ability to break down Game systems from an end user perspective, as well as work with the dev team to isolate potential risk areas from a white box perspective.
  • Preferred knowledge in gaming consoles or embedded systems.
