Position Title: Senior Manager, Analytics

We are looking for a passionate leader to turn data into insight and insight into business decisions and results.  You will manage our team of analysts to improve gameplay and product performance, as well as support business planning and strategy for the studio.    You will support multiple products, from currently live titles like The Sims 4, The Sims Mobile, and yet unannounced major HD and mobile game launches.  You should be a sharp, curious, and an analytic individual who has a passion for games and a strong desire to develop and grow a critical team and function.  Your insight and leadership will influence game design to drive improved acquisition, retention, and monetization. 

 

Role:

 

  • Works collaboratively with leadership, design, producers, data analysts, and data scientists, to present data that will provide actionable insights into our games to improve the acquisition, engagement and monetization of our audience
  • Owns strategic projects such as long range planning, competitive analysis, and game forecasting
  • Manages the workload and priorities of the analytics team
  • Works to develop and grow the technical and soft skills of their team members
  • Collaborates with operations, finance and studio leadership to help make business critical decisions and recommendations
  • Prepares and presents analysis to senior management
  • Is actively engaged in our games and develops a deep understanding of game mechanics including gameplay and economy
  • Partners closely with other studios and central resources as a Maxis representative driving EA wide strategic goals

 

Skills:

 

  • BA or BS in statistics, business, analytics, data science or related field – MBA a plus
  • A passion for games and the gaming industry
  • 5+ years hands-on experience as a data analyst or business analyst
  • Experience leading small teams a plus
  • Experience with data visualization packages like Shiny or Tableau
  • SQL and excel proficiency, including experience querying large, complex data sets 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at various levels of business and technical expertise, including the ability to simplify difficult technical concepts
  • Team player and self-starter with the ability to liaise with multiple teams and stakeholder
