The Role: Game Analytics Software Engineer

The Game Analytics Software Engineer is a new exciting role where you will help create efficiencies in our sports games by using knowledge of software architecture and behavior to implement and improve game code health monitoring that will be consumed by our automated tools and automated reporting systems.  You will use your knowledge to identify game events in code and insert telemetry to measure, but not interfere with, game execution & performance.  You will provide unit-testing implementation and support for critical game features. You will update and instrument new advanced AI systems with health reporting mechanisms and telemetry (for supported games).  As an embedded member of a game’s dev team you will work closely with them and other external GASE engineers to share best practices and common quality process improvement recommendations.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with game team developers to implement new C++ game code and refactor legacy code with instrumentation to measure feature behavior and game health.

Work with game quality assurance analysts to understand testing processes and how to assist them programmatically from game code directly.

Evaluate existing automation testing, reporting and engineering tools & recommend improvements to reports and visualizations.

Evaluate game code and architecture and recommend improvements.

Educate and direct verification processes utilizing tools and technology.

Act as a communications bridge between game team engineers, data analysts and quality assurance analysts for promoting best practices and process efficiencies.

Develop and maintain automated verification tools, plans & reports to enable the development team to monitor feature health, detect emergent issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues quickly.

 

Required Technical Skills and Experience

A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

5+ years experience in gameplay, AI engineering, UX/UI, online programming, or related position

5+ years experience with C++, C#

Familiar with multiple database platforms, application servers, and development environments

Knowledgeable with Web / IT infrastructure support and administration

 

Additional Skills

Knowledge of game development or real-time embedded software applications a plus

Prior experience in game team development a plus

Machine learning, neural-network construction and statistics experience a plus

Client/server web development (JavaScript, jQuery, HTML 5, CSS) and Angular.js a plus

Proven ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative interdisciplinary team environment

Constantly innovate how to improve product quality as well as group productivity
