The challenge ahead

We are looking for someone with experience in data center engineering and management of physical infrastructure. Primary and main focus will be for a Data Center move for our West Coast DC located in Santa Clara, California with additional responsibilities across three additional data centers around the globe, and potentially several colocation sites used for cloud internetworking. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Engineering and oversee the site engineering for EA’s global data center infrastructure, and will help lead standardization and enhancement programs to improve our footprint and resource use along with keeping the environment well maintained and documented. You will be have a passion to provide industry best practices in physical infrastructure.

The scope of responsibilities you will oversee includes supporting the physical infrastructure that hosts all enterprise infrastructure across EA’s data centers, including:

  • Infrastructure that enables game development and creation
  • Infrastructure supporting employee applications
  • Business Applications (e.g. HR and ERP systems) and Security systems and services

Responsibilities:

  • Document rack elevations, floor layout, power draw, and physical hardware config (e.g. port maps / cabling)
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support at data center equipment to include servers, PDUs, storage arrays, routers, switches, firewalls, out of band management devices, cabinet installation, cabling.
  • Label and asset tag infrastructure, track assets and spares - keep all asset information centrally tracked
  • Be a resource to project team members, and complete project tasks within schedule plan
  • Provide direction and guidance to project team on data center densification, migration, and refresh planning
  • Provide project status reports to management and project teams as assigned.
  • Design new cabinet and hardware installations.
  • Provide after-hour maintenance work on-site and promote smart-hands assignments for operations team.
  • Maintain the health and safety of the data center through technical reviews and appropriate change control

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in information technology and systems engineering
  • Manage vendor requests and tickets for work engagements
  • Update partners on progress
  • Customer service focus and passion to help others
  • You have experience running small to medium size complex data centers.
