A Development Director collaborates with our technical director and product manager to manage a cross-discipline team of software engineers and QA specialists. DD's are the keepers of team processes and project schedules and play a vital role in successfully moving the development team to successful product deliveries to technology adopters across EA while ensuring a strong focus on quality, collaboration and communication.

To be a successful candidate for this role, you need to be great at:

Leadership:

  • Builds and evolves effective team; identifies resourcing needs, provides challenges and developmental opportunities to ensure that all employees reach their potential.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with immediate team and those outside of the immediate team that have an effect on the successful completion of the project
  • Provides line management to employees across disciplines within a single project team.
  • Maintains regular communication with project team and coordinates dependencies with external partners.
  • Drive for continuous improvement in team processes.
  • Participates in the hiring process to ensure qualified candidates are available to meet project requirements.

Execution:

  • Facilitate Scaled Agile Framework and Scrum processes, insuring the process is understood and followed by team members.
  • Preparing high-quality and accurate sprint reports on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Proactively assessing and mitigating risk for assigned scope.
  • Partnering with production to manage scope and quality.
  • Participating in stakeholder calls to ensure stakeholder expectations are met and to ensure integration plans are in place.

Project management:

  • Leading quarterly planning and roadmap exercises for the assigned domain.
  • Ensure clarity and alignment on project scope and timelines.
  • Identify and communicate project risks, and building mitigation plans to address them.
  • Facilitate project changes, ensuring alignment and a common understanding of the impact of the change.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years project management or team leadership experience.
  • A technical background in software development is a strong asset.
  • Education requirement University degree Bachelors or equivalent professional experience.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels and organizations.
  • Experience in various project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

Le directeur du développement collabore avec le directeur technique et le gestionnaire de produits dans la gestion d’une équipe interdisciplinaire d’ingénieurs logiciels et de spécialistes de l’AQ. Les DD sont les gardiens des processus et du calendrier du projet de l’équipe et contribuent de manière déterminante à la mission de l’équipe de développement de livrer avec succès des produits destinés aux adeptes de technologie à l’échelle de EA, tout en maximisant la qualité, la collaboration et la communication.

Le candidat retenu pour ce poste doit posséder les compétences suivantes :

Leadership :

  • Former et faire évoluer une équipe efficace; déterminer les besoins en matière de ressources, proposer des défis et des occasions de perfectionnement afin que tous les employés réalisent leur potentiel
  • Créer et maintenir des relations de travail efficaces avec l’équipe immédiate et les ressources à l’extérieur de l’équipe qui ont une incidence sur le bon achèvement du projet
  • Offrir une gestion hiérarchique aux employés de toutes les disciplines au sein d’une équipe de projet unique
  • Maintenir une communication régulière avec l’équipe de projet et coordonner les dépendances avec les partenaires externes
  • Favoriser l’amélioration continue dans les processus d’équipe
  • Participer au processus d’embauche afin d’assurer la disponibilité de candidats qualifiés pour répondre aux exigences du projet

Exécution :

  • Faciliter les processus Scaled Agile Framework et Scrum, en veillant à ce que le processus soit compris et suivi par les membres de l’équipe
  • Préparer des rapports de sprints exacts et de haute qualité aux deux semaines
  • Évaluer et atténuer les risques de manière proactive selon la portée assignée
  • Collaborer avec la production à la gestion de la portée et de la qualité
  • Participer aux appels avec les parties prenantes afin de répondre à leurs attentes et de veiller à la mise en place de plans d’intégration

Gestion de projet :

  • Mener des exercices de planification et de feuille de route chaque trimestre pour le domaine assigné
  • Assurer la clarté et l’harmonisation de la portée et des échéances du projet
  • Relever et communiquer les risques du projet, et concevoir des plans d’atténuation pour en tenir compte
  • Faciliter les changements au projet en veillant à l’harmonisation et à une compréhension commune de l’impact du changement

Exigences :

  • De 3 à 5 ans d’expérience en gestion de projet ou en leadership d’équipe
  • Expérience technique en développement de logiciels un atout important
  • Diplôme universitaire (baccalauréat) ou expérience professionnelle équivalente
  • Compétences de communication efficaces à tous les niveaux et à l’ensemble des organisations
  • Expérience de différentes méthodologies de gestion de projet, comme Waterfall et Agile
  • Capacité à travailler dans un environnement dynamique et de collaboration
